June has been firing on all cylinders out of Marathon. We're talking mahi-mahi in numbers, blackfin tuna offshore, and solid grouper on the reefs — the kind of month that reminds you why summer in the Florida Keys is hard to beat.

June Fishing Has Been Exceptional in Marathon, FL

Here's what's been biting aboard Always Late.

Mahi-Mahi (Dolphin)

Mahi has been the story of June. We've been finding them in on weedlines and floating debris, and the fish have been coming over the rail in quantity. We've put up limit days multiple times this month — big bull dolphins mixed in with plenty of schoolies.

This is peak mahi season in the Keys and it shows. If a cooler full of dolphin is the goal, right now is your window.

Tuna

The tuna bite offshore has been exceptional. We've had trips come back with 30+ fish between mahi and tuna combined — the kind of spread you lay out on the bow and stare at for a while before cleaning starts. The fish are fat and healthy heading into summer.

Grouper

Grouper fishing on the reef and nearshore structure has been strong. We've been landing black grouper and red grouper — quality fish, not just numbers. Grouper season is open and they've been cooperative. Mixed bags with yellowtail snapper have also been solid for the families and groups that want to keep it closer to home.
